Meschede century rescues Glamorgan against Northants
The on-loan Somerset all-rounder thrashed 107 to help his adopted county to a good total before they were bowled out, with Northants safely negotiating an over at the close.
After a rain-delayed start, it was no surprise that the visitors, captained by David Willey in the absence of skipper Alex Wakely, chose to field first and they immediately made an impact, the opening pair of Rory Kleinveldt and Willey grabbing a wicket apiece.

Hide AdBen Wright and Colin Ingram began the rebuilding job, but both men fell after making starts and when Mark Wallace followed suit they were struggling at 107 for five.
Graham Wagg failed to trouble the scorers before becoming Mohamed Azharullah’s second wicket, but that brought Meschede to the crease to join Chris Cooke, who was starting to settle.
The pair put on 108 in 21 overs to help the hosts to a respectable total, but it was the partnership between Meschede and Ruaidhri Smith that made the difference.
The number 10 smashed an unbeaten 49 from just 33 deliveries and stuck with his partner until he reached three figures before Kleinveldt returned to claim figures of three for 91 by mopping up the tail.
