Beacon set alight in Daventry to mark Queen's birthday
Daventry and villages celebrated the Queen's 90th birthday on Thursday.
The district joined in the national lighting of beacons at 7.30pm to mark the event.
In Daventry a crowd gathered on Borough Hill for the town’s event, organised by Daventry District Council.

Hide AdWith music from Daventry Brass a special gas-fuelled beacon was lit by the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Northamptonshire.
Borough Hill was chosen for the flame because of its height and its historical connection to the town and the monarchy.
In Crick the parish council organised a similar event on Crackshill.
